IS RIVIAN DOING RIGHT BY OUR COMMUNITY?

We Stand with Rivian Workers

The green jobs at Rivian should be good union jobs. Rivian, respect your workers’ right to a union voice. When workers do well at Rivian, our whole community will benefit.

When Rivian came to Normal, they promised good jobs in a green industry. But that’s not the reality for thousands of Rivian workers.

A 2024 Bloomberg exposé and this UAW fact sheet reveal serious health and safety problems at the plant.

  • MORE SAFETY VIOLATIONS THAN ANY OTHER CAR MAKEREven though Rivian has just one factory, OSHA has cited it for more serious safety violations since the start of last year than any other automaker in the U.S.
  • SERIOUS INJURIESThe injuries reported by Bloomberg include a cracked skull, broken bones and an amputated finger.

Right now, Rivian executives are getting rich, but our community: Not so much. In 2023, Rivian’s CEO made $14.3 million—290 times more than the average production worker in our community.

Rivian "Stand Up Sit Down" Committee Nominations

We, the hourly workers on the floor, are tired of getting the runaround from management on issues such as harassment, health and safety, and the weaponization of schedule changes and no respect for our time off.

We will use our strength in numbers across all departments and shifts to take matters into our own hands by coming together and democratically electing a representative committee, that is for US by US.

We are forming the first ever Stand Up Sit Down Committee at Rivian and asking management to sit down with us and come to solutions that work for everyone.

Nominations for the Committee are now open. If you or someone you know are ready to STAND UP to demand Rivian management sit down with us, fill out the nomination form here.

To nominate a coworker or yourself to serve on the committee, fill out the form below. All Rivian hourly workers are eligible to be nominated and to vote in the election for the Stand-Up, Sit-Down Committee.
